Delete Your Mivi Care Account

This page explains how to delete your Mivi Care account and exactly what happens to your data when you do, whether or not you still have the app installed. It should be read together with our full Mivi Care Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and why.

1. Who we are

Mivi Care is provided by NEBULUX TECHSOLUTIONS PRIVATE LIMITED (“Mivi”, “we”, “us”).

2. How to delete your account

You can ask us to delete your Mivi Care account and the personal data linked to it at any time, using either of the methods below. Both remove the same account; you do not need to use both.

In the app

Open Mivi Care, go to Settings, tap Delete account and confirm. The app asks our server to delete your account immediately and signs you out.

Without the app

If you no longer have the app installed, or prefer not to reinstall it, email privacy@mivi.in from any address and ask us to delete your account, giving the mobile number the account is registered to. We may send a one-time code to that number to confirm the request is genuinely yours before we act on it.

You do not need an account to use Mivi Care at all: help articles, on-device diagnostics and the warranty check all work while signed out. If you only ever used the app without signing in, there is no account to delete, though your phone's warranty activation record continues to exist against its IMEI regardless (see Section 4).

3. What happens immediately

As soon as your deletion request is processed:

• Your mobile number, name, email and saved addresses are removed from your account. A one-way hash of the number is kept only as a record that this number's account was deleted; the same number can create a fresh account at any time.
• Your refresh token is revoked at once and your one-time-code history is deleted. The short-lived sign-in token expires by itself within 30 minutes even if it has not already been revoked.
• Any free text you wrote, such as issue descriptions, messages to our staff, cancellation reasons and grievance descriptions, is replaced with “[deleted]”.
• Your phone's device and diagnostic records are disconnected from your account. On a Mivi Phone the IMEI stays on these records so the phone's warranty continues to work correctly for whoever owns it next.
• Payment details Razorpay previously returned to us are wiped from our systems.
• Notification logs (records of SMS and WhatsApp messages sent to you) lose their message content and your number.

4. What we keep after deletion, and why

The DPDP Act lets us keep records we need to establish or defend a legal claim, such as a warranty dispute, and records another law requires us to keep, even after you delete your account. That is the only basis on which anything below survives deletion; nothing is kept for marketing, profiling or any purpose beyond what the law allows.

• Repair jobs, tax invoices (with the name and masked number on them), payment amounts, warranty claim decisions and warranty activation records are kept for as long as tax and consumer-protection law requires, or for as long as we reasonably need them to handle a warranty dispute.
• Repair and grievance records keep their reference number, category, status and timeline, and on a Mivi Phone the IMEI. Our staff can still see these records against the repair they belong to, but your deleted account will no longer appear in any customer search.
• Condition photos and any government ID photo taken at a service centre counter are not deleted automatically as part of account deletion. Email privacy@mivi.in if you would like these specifically removed.
• Ratings and comments you left about a repair are kept with that repair record, with your contact details removed.

None of the records above can be used to sign in to Mivi Care, contact you, or identify you as a customer once your account is deleted.

5. Data that stays on your phone

Deleting your account removes your sign-in details from the app on your phone, but three things are not touched by server-side deletion because they live only in the app's private storage on your device: your local diagnostic test history, the warranty cache (including any IMEI you typed in to check a warranty), and the activation record for the phone you are using. These stay until you clear the app's data from Android Settings or uninstall the app. On a Mivi Phone the preinstalled app cannot be uninstalled, but its data can still be cleared the same way.

6. Staff accounts

Staff accounts used by Mivi employees or authorised service-centre personnel cannot be deleted from within the app. A staff member who wants their account removed should contact Mivi HR directly.

7. Your rights

Deleting your account is one way to exercise your rights under the DPDP Act, but not the only one. You can also, at any time and without deleting your account:

• Ask what personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
• Correct or update your data.
• Withdraw consent for your account data (this has the same effect as deleting your account for that data).
• Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated.

Warranty activation data is not collected on the basis of consent, so it cannot be withdrawn the way account data can; our full Mivi Care Privacy Policy explains its legal basis and how to object to it.

8. Questions or complaints

If you have a question about deleting your account, or you are not satisfied with how a deletion request was handled, contact our Grievance Officer at privacy@mivi.in. If you have done so and are still not satisfied, or have not received a response within the time our Privacy Policy commits to, you have the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India under the DPDP Act.
